The Magic Behind PumpkInferno

Did you know? PumpkInferno is the trailblazer in Canada, originating right here at Upper Canada Village in 2012! This multi-award-winning event continues to captivate visitors with its innovative and breathtaking displays that range from whimsical, enchanting, and mysterious.

The pumpkins you’ll see at PumpkInferno aren’t your average jack-o’-lanterns – they’re incredibly realistic, hand-carved artificial pumpkins, each molded from the shape of a real one.

Every spring, a talented team of young artists from Eastern Ontario begins the massive task of designing, carving, and building the spectacular installations you’ll experience on your tour. Selected for their creativity and passion, whether from their studies or personal pursuits, these student artists spend months bringing each glowing scene to life.

And yes, PumpkInferno changes every year! Our creative team works from spring through fall to introduce brand-new displays alongside returning fan favourites, so every visit is a fresh, unforgettable experience.

Dress for the Weather

PumpkInferno is an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly. The event runs rain or shine, and tickets are non-refundable.

In the chance of extreme inclement weather,  the event may close for safety reasons. Any cancellations will be announced on Upper Canada Village’s website and social media channels (@UpperCanadaVill).

Miniature Toy Train

All aboard our life-sized, brightly lit toy train for a 15–20 minute ride the whole family will love! Enjoy a fun photo stop along the way. The train is located next to the Village parking lot and runs while available. 

Reminder:

• Tickets are $8 + HST per person, available at the station.
• This ride is wheelchair accessible. Please note it is not offered on Accessibility Nights.

Sound & Light Show

Get ready to be dazzled! Hundreds of colourful lights dance in sync with Ladies of the 80’s tunes creating a magical fall spectacle you won’t forget, while you sing and dance along!

Harvest Barn Dining Promo

Make your night extra special with a meal at the Harvest Barn, our on-site dining location, before PumpkInferno! 

Guests booking the 7:00 p.m. (October 3-13) or 6:30 p.m. (October 16-November 1) timeslots can add a $20 Harvest Barn Voucher to their order. This voucher gives you early access to the Harvest Barn so you can enjoy your meal before entering PumpkInferno, and the $20 serves as a credit toward your meal. 

You’ll receive the physical voucher at Admissions to present at the Harvest Barn.

Accessibility Night

Offered on October 8, 15, 21, 22, 2025.

Take a 30-minute nighttime driving tour experience. This is reserved for guests or groups with limited mobility or sensory processing issues who can ride in the comfort of their own vehicles to view PumpkInferno. 

Reminder: 

• Guests must remain in their vehicles during the duration of the scenic drive and follow the lead guide vehicle.
• The Village Store will be open from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., offering a chance to browse a wide selection of handcrafted Village-made products and unique specialty merchandise.
